A cup full of water makes me anxious. However, if it is drained about halfway,
I feel much better. In the same manner, I feel easy when I face a square with a torn corner.
This is what I have found while painting: a new formative element.
The squares with a torn corner in my paintings work like a cup emptied about halfway.
It is the easiness caused by taking out of the jamming.
The ad-lib tension caused by tearing out from the corner and the straight lines of the other corners can be canceled out by the off-loading.
At first glance, I was fascinated by Paul Cezanne who painted his art loose.
The loose art works aroused my admiration.
There has been such a loose niche method. Then, I made it mine in my painting. Loose easy and left unpainted paintings can be perfect even though they are not filled up tight.
I mean that a square with a torn corner has the same philosophical significance as a cup drained about halfway. And the squares complete my paintings where I breathe with lightened my mind.
